Even though the human body is 60% water, fluids are lost through urination, bowel motions, perspiration, and even breathing. When you don’t replace the fluids you lose, you get dehydrated.

Dehydration of mild to moderate severity might be difficult to detect, but it can make you unwell. General aches and pains, weariness, headaches, and constipation are all indications of mild to moderate dehydration.

Dehydration, both acute and chronic, can be hazardous, even fatal. Among the signs and symptoms are:

  • confusion or lethargy
  • low blood pressure, or hypotension
