00:00 – Yeah. As an example though, most refrigerators of today’s modern times have a carbon filter that slides in there. Now, often they won’t replace that filter because it’s $60 a pop. They’re just not ready to exchange it out. But yeah, what happens is, over time, because that particular filter doesn’t backwash, the things build up in that filter over time and you’re causing actually at some point more harm by leaving it in the refrigerator.
00:30 – These other filters that you referred to, like the Brita filter that’s in a refrigerator, that’s all in good. It’s a carbon based filter, just like the refrigerator filter. And it’ll take some of the chemicals out, primarily chlorine because that’s usually the reason why people buy bottled water or use filter waters to get chlorine out of the water, and that’s all good. But the problem with that is it’s strictly limited to what you put in the refrigerator for drinking.

01:33 Yeah, well, and I never like to slam municipal water companies because I think given the limited budgets of what the government, the cities have, they do the best they can to provide good, clean, I wouldn’t say tasting water because it is the chemicals that sometimes takes care of the taste, but they do the best they can. So, they give us water. And my job is to take the chemicals out that could even be harmful to you. A lot of the things in the water, pharmaceuticals more and more are leaching into the water. California has a real problem with what we call TCPs that are in the water. Disinfection byproducts of chlorination, chloramines, for instance, if there’s too much chlorine in the water, that’s not good. So, other additives would be added to the water to disinfect it in order to reach the volume of homes that are out there.
02:39 So, with all those disinfection byproducts, you could have things like trihalomethanes, which are cancer producing carcinogens that enter in the water. And the city is regulated to tell you specifically some of the things that are in the water that could be harmful because they’ve exceeded certain federal guidelines. But there are things that are harmful to your body, which is 70% water. It’s just a requirement to feed the blood and the organs with good water. What you want to do is hydrate properly. People don’t hydrate enough. The chemicals that are in the water that’s coming in from the city, those are the things you need to remove for proper hydration.
