How AquaOx Installs

AquaOx is a direct-to-consumer system. We ship the system to your door and any licensed plumber can install it. There’s no proprietary tooling, no certified installer required, no annual service contract.

The install is three connections:

1. Inlet: your home’s main water line goes into the system
2. Outlet: filtered water leaves the system and feeds the rest of your home
3. Drain: a small drain line carries away the periodic self-cleaning backwash

That’s it. A licensed plumber typically completes the install in 2 to 4 hours.

Where to install

You install AquaOx wherever your main water line enters your home. That’s the point where the system can filter water for every tap, shower, and appliance downstream.

Most common spots:

• Garage. By far the most common. Easy access, easy drain, climate-controlled enough to never freeze.
• Basement or utility room. Same idea, often near the water heater or main shutoff.
• Crawl space. If your main line enters under the house, your plumber can dig out a level pad for the tank to sit on.
• Outside. Only in non-freezing climates (Florida, southern Texas, southern Arizona, Hawaii). The system must not freeze.

If you’re in a climate where temperatures drop below freezing, do not install outside. Move it indoors or insulate aggressively. A frozen system can crack the tank and is not covered under warranty.

The drain line

The system runs a brief self-cleaning cycle every few days and discharges the rinse water through a small drain line. This water is just water with a bit of sediment. No chemicals, no salt, no concentrate. It’s safe for:

• A standard household drain (laundry standpipe, floor drain, utility sink)
• A septic system
• An exterior gravel pit or french drain

Make sure your install location has a drain within reach before your plumber arrives.

Before delivery: what to plan for

• Confirm install location with your plumber and clear the spot. The tank needs roughly a 2’ × 2’ footprint and standing clearance.
• 120V power within reach of the install spot (the valve head runs the backwash timer).
• A drain within reach (see above).
• Bypass valve. Recommended, not required. Lets your plumber isolate the system for future maintenance.
• Shipping. Your AquaOx arrives by freight on a pallet, curbside delivery. The driver will not bring it into your home or garage. Plan for two people or a dolly to move it.
